1953 Vintage 18" Madame Alexander Margaret Glamour Girl
in Edwardian Light Blue
and Picnic Day Hat
Margaret is a walker doll with auburn curls wearing a dress tagged "
MADAME ALEXANDER
."  Her neck and back are unmarked. She stands 18 inches tall.  Her eyes open and close and she has full upper lashes. Her walker mechanism works.
She wears a lovely light blue embossed cotton dress #2001A in Edwardian fashion with an hoop skirt with attached panties underneath.  Some say this dress is more often seen in pink so this is a nice find to have it in light blue.  The collar and skirt have rows of delicate beautiful ivory trim. Five working square snap are in the back. The dress has some fading in the blue in the sides of the bodice.  I did not find holes or tears in the dress or underskirt but just loose elastic in the sleeves and attached panties.
The hat is not original to this dress but does come from another Margaret Glamour Girl fashion of the same year (1953) called the Picnic Day #2001C which fits Margaret's head perfectly and actually brights up the blue dress which makes her look like she longs for a lovely summer's day walk.
She wears lovely nylon brown gloves trimmed with black lace.  The gloves are not the original gloves for the blue dress but do fit Margaret's hands perfectly.  Like the Picnic Day hat, the brown gloves are brighter than the original black that she would have worn and I think help to brighten up the ensemble.
She wears front snap black shoes with full soles & heels and back seam garter hosiery.  One hose has a hole near the top at the seam (see image).
Margaret's plastic has some fading but she retains lovely pinkness in her cheeks, bright red lip color, painted lower lashes and painted eyebrows.
I have photographed her just as I found her.  The history of any repair or past environments is unknown.
I haven't noticed any offensive odors.
My home is smoke free and she has been in my home for a brief stay only.
** Item is NOT mint but shows evidence of being loved. I have tried to photograph her from all sides with her wardrobe and without.  I'm only allowed 12 photos on Ebay.

I have mentioned flaws that I have noticed but I'm not an expert so there may be others.  Ask questions about what's important to you that I did not show in photos or mention in the description.  I will answer if I can. I don't guarantee that I will know but I try.

SHIPPING
Doll is packaged very carefully.  She is wrapped gently in tissue paper first and then bubble wrap.  Bubble wrap will be lightly sealed with easy to remove scotch tape so that you do NOT have to use scissors to unwrap the doll. I then use packing peanuts around the doll to cushion her securely within the box.
The buyer's name MUST be the name on the shipping label.  -

"in care of" type of labels using
C/O or CO).  If a name appears on the address different than the name of the buyer, I may cancel the order.
If the item's final value is over 0, a
signature will be required upon delivery.
