Armed Forces Radio Service 16" Transcription Records and Vinyl LPs

$ 198

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: For sale are a LOT of 47 16" Long Play Recordings. Extremely interesting. I own about 20 records players from Linear Tracking to Educational Califones and not one of them was capable of playing any of these HUGE records, LOL. Believe me I tried. They are in varying states of condition. None of them appear 'NEW'. Some have scuffs. Some have scratching. All are extremely dusty. Looks like they were played quite a bit back in the day. Most are traditional vinyl, a few of them appear to have a aluminum substrate coated with vinyl. I may have this incorrect but it appears a few may have been cut on old Presto machines or some other device. I've seen these before through the decades but never in this quantity and never in the original military 'Albums'. The paper jackets are all there but many have splits in the seams (mostly on the bottoms). Most of the jackets are fragile and should be treated carefully. 47 records in total. I photographed as many as realistic and took time to composite.

    I figure these ought to be worth at least each and am starting the auction at 5 for the 47 records. Hoping I'm correct because I'd rather not sell these piece-meal. Hoping there may also be some rarity to the four (4) official Military albums themselves which could be icing on the auction cake.
