Description

Boonton BEC 75A-S8 Capacitance Bridge. Measures Capacitors 200upF pF To 1000 pF. Excellent Working Condition. Also useful for measuring inter-element capacitance of vacuum tubes. Might Need Calibration. I Do Not Have Standards That Would Be Required For Accurate Calibration.
The capacitance dial goes through two complete revolutions between each major division. (ie: 400-500) Therefore, Boonton presented the 1st revolution in black so one would read the black numbers. 2nd revolution is in the red section, therefore you would read the red numbers. The expanded dial I have shown is in the red. By interpolation I would read this dial setting as 499.85 pF
The Capacitance Range Of This Unit Is 200 upF To 1000 pF In 4 Decade Ranges. It Can Also Measure Micromhos And Resistance In 4 Decade Ranges. .01-1000 Micromhos. 1000-100M Ohms. This Unit has Many Other Functions Covered In the Manual. Also Many Charts & Formulas.
This Unit Operates With A Built In 1 MHz Oscillator And Detector. It Can Also Be Used With External Oscillators And Detectors Any Frequency Between 100 KHz To 1 MHz.
I found it very easy to use and especially so with an external pod. The manual shows details on how to easily build an external pod. A CD copy of the manual for this instrument is also included with this unit.
This unit can also be rack-mounted. The cover strips on the left and right sides hide standard rack mounting cutouts. The front panel is in very nice condition except for one area by the multiply C switch. The outer case has many rubs and scratches and there is a small dent at the bottom front right
